Abstract
The aim of the article. The aim of the article is clarifying the definition «innovative development of enterprise», identify the key preconditions for the innovative development of enterprises regardless of their types of economic activity, and determine detail of these preconditions for catering trade’ enterprises with different consumers audience.
The results of the analysis. The results of the analysis of a lot of scientific sources are showed that now formed two main approaches to the understanding of the term «innovative development»: 1) object-oriented technology or research results, where innovative development is seen as the result of scientific or scientific-technical activity, 2) functional, where innovative development is associated with the functions of creation, implementation and dissemination of innovations, implementing innovative projects, ect.
Critical analysis of the definitions of concept «innovative development of enterprise» is showed that, firstly, a number of scholars associated innovative development with the deployment of the innovation process. This, in our opinion, is not quite correct, because the innovative development of the enterprise is usually associated not only with the implementation of innovation. It may be apply economic, marketing, administrative, commercial and / or industrial and etc. innovative change. Second, some scholars rightly emphasize the close relationship between innovation and enterprise capabilities. Thirdly, there are scientists who are define this concept and actually emphasize it only whith source of development – innovation. Others scientists think that the basis of innovative development is innovation or their management. Also we believe that this is not reasonably identify the development of a set of relations that arise in the course of a targeted economic efficiency and competitiveness. Fourth, some scholars actually equates development and activities. Fifth, sometimes enterprise’s innovative development is defined as a path that is based on a combination of deepening business objectives, improve business processes, etc. in order to achieve common strategic objectives. These scholars does not confirm the fact that only in the innovative development can be achieved combining in-depth business objectives. Sixthly, we support the position of those scholars who emphasize that enterprise’s innovative development leads to qualitative changes. Seventh, we consider it inappropriate without any prior explanation or justification introduction to the final determination of terms and concepts that until now have not been used in the theory of innovation and innovation management. In particular, the notion «balanced state of innovation».
Conclusions and directions of further researches. Our studies have clarified the nature of the concept «innovative development of enterprise», which in contrast to existing definitions of the term clearly and comprehensively reflects the peculiarities of an innovative type of development. It depends on the innovation potential of enterprises and innovations, creating new opportunities for follow-up on the market by implementing the ability to invent new solutions, ideas and inventions as a result.
On the basis of the results of our study during 2002-2013 years by more than 250 enterprises in Ukraine (59% catering trade’ enterprises, 26% industrial companies, the remaining companies – another economic activities) we are identified the key preconditions for the innovative development of modern enterprises. On the one hand, it is the high intensity of competition in the market that has been associated mainly with non-price factors, on the other – strong innovative capacity or sufficient levels of funding and an appropriate level of intellectual capital for the effective technology transfer and / or outsourcing functions of management innovations that help to strengthen the competitive position on the market and improve the efficiency of production. Also are determined preconditions for the innovative development of catering trade’ enterprises with different consumers audience.
The results of our researches can be the basis for improving the process of decisions making about enterprises’s innovative development.
