Editorial independence
Sumy State University (the Publisher of Marketing and Management of Innovations) is dedicated to ensuring that individual editorial decision-making and peer-review processes remain unaffected by any external interests. Editorial independence is a fundamental principle upheld by Sumy State University, where Journal’s editors wield complete authority over article selection and the peer-review process. This commitment aligns with best practice guidelines from COPE, WAME, PERK and ICMJE. As the responsible publisher, Sumy State University prioritize safeguarding editorial independence to facilitate genuine free expression underpinned by academic rigor. Sumy State University also actively contribute to maintaining editorial accountability and upholding best practices.
Sumy State University expects that editors will base their decisions on submissions on the validity of their conclusions, contribution to the knowledge base, and adherence to the Journal’s policies and procedures, rather than considering commercial implications for the publisher.
The following statement underscores Sumy State University’s stance on the significance of independent editorial decision-making:
- Editors possess complete independence in determining which submissions should undergo peer review. They may choose to reject submissions without external input if they lack sufficient interest or standard or fall outside the journal’s scope.
- Editorial decisions to accept submissions must rely on input from two or more independent peer-reviewers who are experts in the study topic, along with the editor’s own assessment of the submission.
- Any complaints regarding editorial decisions should be addressed by the Journal Editor or the Editorial Board.
- Sumy State University staff refrain from involvement in or commenting on individual submission decisions. They collaborate with the Journal Editor to address any ethical concerns raised with the publisher.
